U.S. PIRG Staff
Steve Blackledge is U.S. PIRG's public health program director. He oversees the organization's efforts to stop the overuse of antibiotics on factory farms, label GMOs, and reduce risks from chemical spills and accidents.
Previously, Mr. Blackledge worked at the state level to win new consumer and public interest reforms in California and New Hampshire, and helped to develop the State PIRG program and organizations in a dozen other states. Prior to that he coordinated grassroots campaigns in Michigan and the Northeast.
Mr. Blackledge has appeared on CSPAN, Fox News and CNN, and has been quoted in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, and numerous other media outlets. He is a graduate of Wartburg College in Iowa and started with the PIRG network in Chicago in 1991.
