U.S. PIRG Staff
Jaimie Woo is the Federal Tax and Budget Associate for U.S. PIRG. Ms. Woo works to increase tax and budget transparency and accountability, advocate for 21st transportation needs, eliminate wasteful subsidies that fail to serve the public interest, and end the abuse of anonymous shell companies. She co-authored the report, “Toward Common Ground 2013: Bridging the Political Divide with Deficit Reduction Recommendations for Congress,” which details 65 specific spending cuts to inefficient and wasteful federal government programs of over half a trillion dollars.
Ms. Woo lobbies elected officials, writes media pieces, conducts research, and builds support among a wide array of constituencies to promote effective fiscal policies. She has been quoted in various news outlets including The Washington Post, The Hill, CBS, and Bloomberg BNA.
Prior to her position with U.S. PIRG, Ms. Woo spent time in the Office of Managment and Administration at the White House, and worked on campaigns related to the Violence Against Women Act and transportation and health issues with The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights.
Ms. Woo is a graduate of Duke University, where she graduated cum laude.
