U.S. PIRG Staff
Meghan Hess is U.S. PIRG’s Associate Federal Field Director. In that role, she coordinates media outreach, coalition building, and grassroots organizing by state PIRGs across the country on federal campaigns.
Prior to this role, Ms. Hess was the program advocate for PIRGIM, the PIRG in Michigan, where she ran campaigns on a wide variety of public interest issues, including tax and budget policy, health care, and consumer safety. Ms. Hess has run grassroots outreach campaigns to update Michigan’s bottle deposit law and end wasteful agriculture subsidies, organized small business owners to support closing corporate tax loopholes, and was a frequent contributor to the Detroit Free Press and other major publications.
Ms. Hess graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Government and Spanish.
