Washington, D.C.: U.S. PIRG Applauds the Introduction of the Internet Freedom Preservation Act

WASHINGTON, July 30 - “The Internet Freedom Preservation Act introduced by Reps. Markey and Eshoo promotes and preserves a fair and open Internet that will protect every American voice online. This crucial piece of legislation will ensure that citizens will be able to access to the Internet free of discriminatory interference from telecommunications companies.

“To be competitive in a global information economy our nation must have access to a fair and open Internet. This bill is a significant step towards protecting the viability of small online business, independent online media, and preserves an Internet which welcomes technology innovators both small and large.”
