Larry McNeely 202-546-9707 x303 Washington, D.C. Washington, D.C.: Small Business Owners Across America Want Heath Care ReformWASHINGTON, Sept. 11 – Across America, hundreds of small business owners are signing letters urging their representatives to vote for health care reform now. So far, almost 2,000 owners in 23 states have signed letters being circulated by the U.S. Public Interest Research Group and the state PIRGs that ask for reform which cuts costs, stops insurance companies from discriminating against people with pre-existing conditions and gives people the option of a public plan. “At the heart of the health care problem for small businesses lies the same challenge facing every citizen, family, and community in the country,” Larry McNeely, U.S. PIRG’s Health Care Advocate explained. “Health care costs are currently growing faster than the overall economy.” The letters will be delivered the letters to lawmakers’ district offices as well as on Capitol Hill later this fall. Click here to download a copy of the letter. If you are a small business owner, please sign on to the letter and return it to U.S. PIRG.
