Washington D.C.: Student Aid Bill Passes Through Key Committee

WASHINGTON, July 21 – Today the Education and Labor committee in the US House of Representatives approved the Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2009, HR 2331, by a vote of 30 -17.

Christine Lindstrom, U.S. Public Interest Research Group Higher Education Program Director, stated, “Today, members of the House Education and Labor committee recognized and acted on the need to make historic investments in our nation’s faltering student aid programs and under-supported community colleges. I urge the full House to support HR 2331.”
