VOTER REGISTRATION MODERNIZATION

PRINCIPLES: We support a general requirement that each state establish a program of affirmative voter registration to modernize the system We support each state additionally establishing a program of permanent voter registration to continuously update the rolls We support and realize that the prerogatives currently under our purview included in administering elections will remain intact We support same day balloting as a failsafe to other registration mechanisms We support additional funding and resources to the state from the federal government to make affirmative registration, failsafe balloting, and permanent registration possible
