VOTER REGISTRATION MODERNIZATION
The success of any election is utterly dependent on the resources and skills of our local and state-level election officials.
The strong turn out of 2008 was only possible because millions of new voters were added to the rolls at by diligent local officials.
It is critical coming out of this election that we recognize the enormous inefficiencies and problems that still exist within the current voter registration system.
Despite the efforts of third party groups, and the millions of dollars and the thousands of hours put in by local election administrators to process new forms, 25 percent of eligible voters were unable to participate on Election Day because they were not registered.
In order to allow all American citizens to claim their right to vote on Election Day we need a more effective and efficient system of registration.
We need to modernize our voter registration system to eliminate waste, cut costs, and ensure every citizen is registered to vote.
