One Hundred Small Business Owners Heading to Washington, D.C.

Over 100 owners of small businesses will visit Washington, D.C., on Nov. 3 to spend a day speaking to their Congressional representatives and to the White House on the need for health care reform.

“Nobody can make the case for health reform better than small business owners,” explained Larry McNeely, U.S. PIRG Health Care Advocate. “They have been among the hardest hit by rising health care costs.”

U.S. PIRG joined Senators Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) for a Capitol Hill press conference to highlight the public option’s role in improving coverage choices and lowering health care costs.
