Wes Morgan (303) 573-5885 ext. 312 A News Release Code for Change announces its first release
The Code for Change Summer 2007 participants have released the first version of the project we're working on this summer. This release, available for download below, is a pre-release of CiviCRM with our standalone feature added in. Normally, CiviCRM has to be run inside a CMS (content management system) such as Drupal or Joomla. We have created a standalone version that can run by itself with any CMS you choose, or no CMS at all! This will help many more organizations be able to take advantage of CiviCRM because they won't be tied to a particular CMS choice. Please note: This is not a stable release of CiviCRM! This is alpha-quality code that is not intended for production use. Having said that, we definitely want folks to download it and try it out. Requirements: a web server running PHP (preferably UNIX/Linux, but may work on Windows too, though this hasn't been tested). You can report bugs here (and not to CiviCRM directly, we'll forward them up to them when appropriate). Here's our list of known issues with this release. If you need help getting it up and running, please join us in #codeforchange on irc.freenode.net.
