Background

Jane Regan is an award-winning multimedia journalist and filmmaker who has focused on social justice and human rights issues throughout her 25-year career, working on documentaries for PBS and BBC as well as shooting and producing news videos for AP Television and Reuters TV; writing from Haiti for a dozen years for traditional print and online outlets (Miami Herald and others) as well as for advocacy-oriented outlets (such as Interpress Service), and co-founding a human rights-oriented news agency, the Haitian Information Bureau, from 1991 through 1999.

Ms. Regan was also Executive Director of Somerville Community Access Television, the nation’s oldest community TV station and was a curriculum developer and adjunct faculty at Tufts University and the University of Massachusetts’ College of Public and Community Service. In 2004 Regan was co-recipient of the Samuel Chavkin Prize for Integrity in Latin American Journalism and a finalist for the Rory Peck Award in London. Ms. Regan earned a Bachelors of Arts from Harvard University and a Masters of Philosophy in Communication Studies from the University of the West Indies in Jamaica.
