Jeff Bernstein is a policy analyst, providing research and analysis in the areas of health care, finance, and consumer issues. Mr. Bernstein is an attorney whose practice has involved representing many non-profit advocacy organizations. His first job after graduating Harvard Law School was as Assistant General Counsel (and later General Counsel) to MASSPIRG and the Fund for the Public Interest. He later worked for two years in the California State Legislature as Principal Aide to Assemblymember Hannah-Beth Jackson. He has advised and represented democratically worker-owned companies and numerous public interest organizations such as Access for All. As the attorney for Access for All, Mr. Bernstein successfully defended the public’s right to access the beach in Malibu against David Geffen in a highly publicized battle. He is also a certified math and science teacher and has taught physics, chemistry, and all levels of high school mathematics in both public and private schools. Prior to attending law school he served as a United States Peace Corps volunteer, teaching physics in Malaysia.
